Pocketfood Terms of Service

Last updated: May 15, 2025

This page reflects the current Terms of Service published by Pocketfood for businesses, employees, and vendors.

General Terms

These Terms govern access to and use of Pocketfood's website and mobile application (the Platform). They apply to all users, including business administrators, employees, and guest users.

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

Pocketfood may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when posted, and existing users may also be notified by email or in-app prompts.

Services and Platform Scope

Pocketfood enables businesses to plan and manage team meals by coordinating food orders from restaurants and food vendors.

Pocketfood does not own or prepare meals listed by vendors and does not guarantee vendor menu accuracy, meal quality, or meal availability.

Meal descriptions and other content may come from vendors or users. Content is provided for general information and should not be treated as professional advice.

Access, Eligibility, and Accounts

Services are intended for users aged 18 and above who can form legally binding agreements.

Users must provide accurate registration information, keep account credentials secure, and report unauthorized access immediately.

Businesses are responsible for keeping account information current and for all activity conducted through their accounts.

  • Pocketfood may request additional verification documents.
  • Pocketfood may require password resets when suspicious activity is detected.
  • Accounts may be suspended or deleted for security or policy breaches.

Orders, Delivery, and Complaints

Orders are reviewed at checkout before confirmation. Confirming an order is an offer to purchase.

Cancellations may be allowed before vendor acceptance. After acceptance, cancellations may no longer be available.

Users must provide accurate delivery details and be available to receive orders.

  • Meal images are illustrative and may differ from delivered products.
  • Report non-delivery, wrong orders, or service complaints promptly to hello@pocketfood.io or in-app support.
  • Where applicable, refunds or redelivery depend on the circumstances and applicable policy.

Payments and Pricing

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers.

Pricing is shown in Naira and may include applicable taxes and delivery fees displayed at checkout.

By creating and using an account, users agree to Pocketfood's payment terms.

  • Supported payment options may include wallet funding, debit cards, bank transfers, QR, and partner-provided channels.
  • Total charges are due at order placement unless otherwise agreed for a business account.

Acceptable Use and Restricted Activities

Users must use the Platform lawfully and for its intended purpose.

  • Do not engage in fraud, impersonation, or false identification.
  • Do not misuse, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to Pocketfood systems.
  • Do not use the Platform in ways that violate applicable law.

Intellectual Property

Pocketfood and its licensors own rights in the Platform, software, branding, and content.

Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or reverse engineer protected content without authorization.

Suspected infringement may be reported to hello@pocketfood.io.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Pocketfood does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service and is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from platform use or unavailability.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable Nigerian law.

Indemnity, Suspension, and Termination

Users agree to indemnify Pocketfood for losses arising from misuse of services or breach of these Terms.

Pocketfood may suspend or terminate access for fraud, legal violations, or breach of Terms, and may notify relevant authorities where required.

Users may request account closure at any time, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.

Personal Data and Electronic Communications

Personal data is handled in accordance with Pocketfood's Privacy Policy.

Users consent to receive electronic communications, disclosures, and records related to service use.

Promotions, Governing Law, and Severability

Promotional codes are subject to separate campaign rules and may be disabled for misuse.

These Terms are governed by Nigerian law, and disputes are subject to Nigerian courts.

If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in effect.
